I finished my black and white photo a day in 2025 project yesterday.
I only had one close call when I forgot to take a photo but still managed to find one on my phone camera roll that I could use.

My trip to visit the Blue Mountains was tops.
Mountain Culture brewery put on some great beers and wings.
The walks around the Three Sisters are well worth it.
We spent last week in Sydney.
The weather was perfect and it was a lovely time.
The beach walk from Coogee to Bondi is well worth it.
We visited Coral bay in July. It was a lovely escape from winter.
The weather was warm and we managed some reef snorkeling and to spot some fish, turtles, and whales.
I’m over 100 days into my black & white a day project.
I inevitably end up shooting around the house and neighbourhood most days. This is forcing me to find novel perspectives on things I regularly pass. It’s also making me appreciate the different light over the course of the day.
I moved my photography to rays.photos.
The existing feeds and links should hopefully redirect properly.
The last month has been a whirlwind as we’ve moved back to Perth.
I’ve taken photos down in Margaret River and around the old haunts.
I’m taking on a 365 photo challenge this year: capturing at least one black and white photo each day and adding it to my journal.
K’gari (Fraser Island) is beautiful.
We spent a few days there between Christmas and New Years.
It was the busy season and the island was packed with four wheel drivers. It felt like there were about fifty vehicles parked up for a swim at Eli Creek while we were there. We never felt crowded though, the island is huge.
I was in Mexico for work a couple of weeks ago and managed to steal away for a little to take some photos around Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque.
